Do you ever find yourself trying to implement new habits and it doesn’t work out? Maybe it’s that you want to start getting up earlier in the morning and just can’t keep consistent. Or that you want to start taking your health and fitness seriously but find yourself stopping for fast food a few times a week. You may think you just need to try harder. Or that you need to get better at managing your time. Maybe you think, if I just had a friend that wanted to go to the gym with me. Or maybe you think it’s just not the right season for you to implement that new habit.
Some of these things could be very true. There are seasons in life where implementing certain new habits would not make sense. Or having an accountability partner for going to the gym could very well be a good idea for you. There are many different ways, different tips and tricks, and different strategies when it comes to implementing new habits in your life. These things can be very beneficial. But no habit hack or strategy will help you stay consistent if you do not believe you are worthy of the results. If your identity is low, the success of your habits will be low.
So before you try to implement that new habit, or new business idea, or pursue that new relationship, stop and ask yourself if you believe you are worthy of the results. Do you think you are worthy of your business being a success? Do you believe you are worthy of that person wanting to go on a date with you? Do you believe you are worthy of being healthy? You won’t exceed what you believe you are worthy of.
Here are a few thoughts to get you thinking.
1.Do I believe that I am someone of worth no matter what I have accomplished?
2.Do I believe other people deserve good things, or to have success, but not me? Why?
3.Do I believe I am worthy of achieving great things in life?
Take some time and reflect on these questions. If you are a person of faith spend some time in prayer about them. Or talk with a trusted friend. I will let you in on a little secret though, you are a person of worth, you do deserve good things, and you are worthy of achieving your dreams! But the power is in you knowing and believing it!
I’ll leave you with a quote from James Clear
“Behaviour that is incongruent with the self will not last.”
