It is not rocket science to acknowledge that big things can have a big affect and big impact. What about the little things? What if the little things we do in life have just as much or more impact than the big things.
You know what it is about the little things? They are little things. They can seem so insignificant and hard to gauge whether they will have a good or bad influence on us. On another note, it’s that it’s simply easy not to do them. But at the same time, it’s simple to do them as well.
Beyond the look of simplicity, we can underestimate the potential every little thing has.
A small little rock can send off a ripple effect. One penny saved and compounded over time can turn into millions of dollars. One little seed can grow into a sequoia tree that is up to 279ft tall and 26ft in diameter.
Get the picture? There is power in the little things.
So here is a reminder that our actions have consequences. The negative things we do have consequences and the positive things we do have consequences.
I believe that most of the little things we do begin with innocent intentions behind them. Be warned that if we are not careful, they can become careless intentions.
Eating greasy fast food everyday may not show its impact right away or in the first few weeks. Do it long enough and see it pick up momentum and spiral out of control. One day you wake up wondering why you feel so unhealthy and stuck?
But the same thing can be said about exercising a little bit everyday. You may not see the impact right away but do it long enough and it can change everything. The momentum it can pick up can ripple into an amazing heathy lifestyle.
Here is the point, the positive and the negative things in our lives can all look the same and it can be hard to decipher between them both until they pick up momentum.
Let’s be stewards of the little things and let’s practice having foresight and seeking wisdom to know the difference between the good and the bad things.
Don’t wake up one day wondering what happened and feeling regret. Instead, be intentional and reap the results of what you have sown on purpose.
Grow as you go!
