Some of the simplest most mundane tasks we do can be the most transformative things we do. That’s why it’s important we put thought, purpose, and intentionality behind them. It’s important we do the right things that add value to our lives. Let’s not settle for mediocrity and average, but for an elevated life that produces excellence.
Here is a key to living that type of life, practice the art of repetition. Here is a key to living that type of life, practice the art of repetition. See what I did there! That was not a mistake.
Someone once put it this way, repetition is the mother of all learning. I couldn’t agree more as I have seen that be evident in my life and in the lives of others. Repetition not only creates habits in our lives, but it also sharpens us to do whatever we are doing, better. Another way of saying this is, repetition equips us to master our craft, improve on our skill sets and work on our strengths.
Repetition over a period of time is what makes people an overnight success. Athletes show up to a game with hours of training, late nights, early rises and doing the same things over and over to become an all star. A musician will play their instrument without a flaw with hours of practice, doing the little things like scales and doing the “boring” things to perfect their craft. An entrepreneur will build a successful business by showing up everyday, doing the things others won’t and maybe even doing the things that seem insignificant over and over.
It comes down to this, you want what they have, or you want to do what they do, but are you willing to do what they did. Find what works and do it over and over until you become what you want to become.
What you do daily matters, what you do weekly matters. Embrace repetition and do it consistently.
I leave you with a quote from Will Durant “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”
Grow as you go!
